Who is Ta’Varis?
Ta’Varis Wilson is a native of Augusta, Ga. Mr. Wilson received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech and Theatre from Albany State University and furthered his education at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA where he obtained a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Acting.
Ta’varis is the Director of Theatre at Albany State University where he serves as advisor for The Albany State University Theatre Ensemble and Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society.
In his community, he is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and serves on The Board of Directors for Theatre Albany.
Along with his community involvement, he is also a professional actor and director. He directed and produced Black Nativity at The Historic Liberty Theatre in Columbus, GA and has performed at the Springer Opera House in Columbus, GA in the musicals Dreamgirls and The Color Purple, He spent a summer working in Indiana where he portrayed El Gallo in The Fantasticks, Mike Talman in Wait Until Dark and Roger in Grease. He also has numerous television and film credits such as WGN’s hit show Underground, Things Don’t Stay Fixed and The Delilah Project (Postproduction).
